Living Experience

A PLACE TO LIVE

Tri Delta facilities provide a home away from home to many. Our members embrace the ideal of friendship and value self-respect as they are free to be themselves, form strong friendships and have their current friendships grow stronger while spending time with each other in one of our chapter locations.

A PLACE TO LEARN

Tri Delta fosters academic excellence. By providing our members with quiet study spaces, academic resources, modern amenities and Wi-Fi throughout the facility, our members are able to focus on their academics and learn in a comfortable and supportive environment.

A PLACE TO LEAD

Outside the classroom, Tri Delta members are boldly leading the way and are actively involved on their campuses and in their communities. Tri Delta spaces support their leadership and allow members to grow into the best version of themselves.

Welcome to the Alpha Tau Chapter of Delta Delta Delta at Carnegie Mellon University!

Since 1888, Tri Delta has provided its members with a perpetual bond of friendship. Built on truth, self-sacrifice, and friendship, our sisterhood goes beyond college and lasts a lifetime. Many of our graduates enjoy attending alumnae chapter events and meeting other sisters from over 140 collegiate chapters across North America.

In Alpha Tau, sisters care for one another and support each other’s individual growth to ensure that every sister makes the most of her college years. Our sisters are dedicated to making exceptional contributions to our community. Many serve as Community Advisors and Resident Assistants, Orientation Counselors/Leaders, research and teaching assistants, a capella performers, and leaders for student organizations, service trips, club sports, honor societies, and so much more!

Put these uniquely talented and passionate women together, and we accomplish extraordinary goals. In Spring 2019, we built a one-story booth with the theme of “Pompeii,” and we performed our rendition of “Footloose” in Greek Sing. For Greek Sing, we placed 1st in the show category and 3rd in philanthropy for raising over $14,000 for 412 Food Rescue. This contributed to our Greek community’s fundraising total of over $122,000 for 412 Food Rescue in just one year. We were also recognized as Chapter of the Year, and received awards for Outstanding Membership Education and Development, Outstanding Sisterhood, Outstanding Academic Achievement, Outstanding Ritual Education and Implementation, and Outstanding Alumni Relations. In 2020, we placed 2nd in philanthropy for Greek Sing, raising money once again for 412 Food Rescue.

However, our proudest achievement thus far has been raising money and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, our national philanthropy since 1999. In 2014, Tri Delta committed to raising $60 million in ten years to support St. Jude in their mission to advance cures, and means of prevention, for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases through research and treatment. The Alpha Tau chapter is proud to have raised over $14,000 for St. Jude in the last year. Our main fundraising events include our Sincerely Yours letter writing campaign, Delta House of Pancakes (an all-you-can-eat pancake buffet), and Jams for St. Jude (an acoustic café with unlimited coffee, tea, and desserts).

As President, I am honored to lead a chapter of diverse women who consistently challenge me to be my best self. On behalf of the sisters of Delta Delta Delta, I invite you to explore our website, learn more about our involvements and experiences, and find inspiration in our sisterhood just as I do every day.

Delta Love,

Grace Wolczanski

President of the Alpha Tau Chapter
